The setup

Josie spent years on yoga and a marriage that stopped noticing her. Now her husband has left her for a woman in her twenties, and her stepson Tyler, a grown man of twenty-two, drives home to keep her company. She asks him a pointed question about how old she looks to him, and the hug lasts too long. By episode 2 she has begged him to stay on, since that big bed feels empty, and she admits she has noticed him noticing her for several summers. Meanwhile his father keeps calling.

Why it is worth the time

It is gentler than most of the catalog: grief, wounded pride and a slow tilt from sympathy into something else. The cuckold angle is in the background, with the absent husband still hovering on the phone.

Best night for it

A quiet, low-lit evening when you want slow tension and a bit of emotional texture instead of nonstop dares.
