The setup

Episode 1 starts with a broken leg and a father who is traveling. She cannot get into bed or dress alone and asks her stepson to help, thanking him with a line that carries more weight than it should. Dad calls to check in and thanks him for the care. She then asks him to zip her up for an appointment and says he will help her out of it tonight.
