The setup

Prince Theron has been dreaming about a woman for months, and when his father the king introduces his new wife, Queen Lysandra, she turns out to be her. She has been dreaming about him, too. An oracle warns the court that the king has welcomed a serpent into the royal bedchamber, and the guards drag her away. Episode 1 ends with the two of them admitting what they saw. Episode 2 adds more of the prophecy: a goddess visited Lysandra, the queen married the king to find the man from her visions, and a locked chamber suggests the gods are waiting.

Why it is worth the time

The myth setting gives the forbidden angle a reason beyond lust: fate as the excuse, and everyone in the palace as an audience. It has royal costume, big stakes and a strong hook.

Best night for it

Good for an evening when you want fantasy and a sense of occasion, with time to watch both free episodes.
