The setup

A company trip goes wrong from the start: the narrator turns up at compartment twelve, and it is occupied by his boss and his boss's wife. The boss grumbles, then lets him stay rather than banish him to a corridor floor. The wife says she is cold and suggests a way to warm up. In episode 2 she covers for him, they steal minutes whenever the train stops, and the boss keeps ordering him around for coffee and luggage. Every errand is a chance for her to close the gap, and every delay puts his job at risk.

Why it is worth the time

It is a heist-style tension piece: tight quarters, a deadline at every station stop, and a husband who is always one step from noticing. The setting does a lot of work.

Best night for it

A late-night watch when you want sneaky suspense in a cramped space, and you have a few quiet minutes to spare.
