The setup

Episode 1 follows the lowest-ranked recruit through his first day of basic, where his unit meets Diana, a fearsome CO who sends him running up the hill and tells him she owns him now. The colonel appears, and the recruit wonders about her connection to him. She tells him to come to her office to be disciplined. In episode 2 he arrives to scrub her floor, then hears her shower running close by while he tries to keep his eyes down. She calls him in with an order and a surprise. Diana is an original Candy character.

Why it is worth the time

This is the long one, with a big episode count to plan around, and Diana is the whole reason to stay: sharp, commanding and fun to watch. Her orders drive the story.

Best night for it

A planned weekend watch when you want to settle in for several nights, not a single sitting.
