The setup

Piper settles into a lavish villa to celebrate her wedding, yet husband James is already buried in investor calls. Not much attention is left for her, and the only person who pays her any attention is the staff member carrying her bags. She tells him he can stop being so cautious tonight, and when James is called away again she takes it as a sign. Episode 2 takes place by the pool, where she asks for help with sunscreen and brushes off his worries about being fired. She says work can wait, and her husband, stuck on the phone, is no obstacle.

Why it is worth the time

A cheating-wife story with a cold edge: a marriage built on money, a woman tired of being ignored, and a staff member in over his head. It is sleek, sunny and well paced.

Best night for it

A good pick for a short, indulgent break, especially when you like glossy settings.
