The setup

Episode 1 is quiet and loaded: the wife leaves a reminder to be nice and promises to be back by evening. The husband, left with the new maid, tries to act normal, and each time his wife calls to ask how it's going, his answer is always that all is well. In episode 2 the maid explains she is following the instructions to look after every room, offers a line about dust, and then points out that he is the last untidy thing left in it.
