The setup

Ethan is a prisoner in a land of dragons, and Queen Veyra has picked him as her latest companion. The court knows what happened to the three before him, which is nothing anyone wants to discuss. Episode 1 is all ceremony and command: she demands his name for her, he reminds her he is only a human, and she tells him not to disappoint her. Episode 2 shows the daytime version of the same woman, cold and cruel in front of her subjects, and then the night reveals how much of that is performance.

Why it is worth the time

It is lush fantasy with a power game at its center, and the question of who holds the leash is more interesting than the crown. The two faces of Veyra carry the whole thing.

Best night for it

Good for a solo evening when you want a fantasy setting and a slower build, with episode 2 saved for after you are hooked.
