The setup

Brooke is a wrestler who has been told her career could be over tonight. Her opponent works the shoulder and says she was hired to finish the job, and the match is already booked. In episode 2, Brooke asks why she was allowed to win, and the rival shrugs that the pay was not enough to bother. A big card is thirty days away, a three-year contract is on the line, and someone with power over both of them makes it clear that the next result decides whether either of them works again.
